It takes 15 minutes to walk to my studio office in Ann Arbor. It’s a semi-maker space for me on a quiet street that has a few architect firms and boutique stores. When the sun is out, it shines brightly in the window making all my glass and trinkets sparkle and I love it. It’s mystical and peaceful at the same time. Allowing me the solitude to work thru new ideas and concepts.
On my walk in it’s a great time for reflection and I’m often deep in thought as I pick up seed pods, leafs, flowers, etc. that catch my eye. After collecting some leaf stems, the idea of a lamp came to me. Currently I’ve got the size determined, the glass reeds made, the desired style of light bulb to use, and the next step is to form the concrete base that the lamp will sit in.
These images reflect that work in progress.
